With such easy access to all of the above, it’s only natural there are some epic festivals celebrating a mix of these in all their glory. Here are our top 5 Australian festivals in Victoria!

Port Fairy Folk Festival!

Usually in the second week in March, this Australian Festival attracts some amazing live acoustic music acts, unique artists and even has some interactive workshops such as Tai Chi , tango dancing and gospel singing. It’s got a very relaxed, country vibe (much like Port Fairy itself) and is appropriate for families with children! If you’re planning a trip down south, this is a great reason to visit Victoria. If you’re looking for Port Fairy accommodation, we’ve got you covered!

Heathcote Wine and Food Festival

You can’t visit Victoria without dipping your toe into its incredible wine culture , and Heathcote is no exception. Every year in October the winemakers of Heathcote come together to showcase their most iconic wines at this delicious Australian festival! Enrich your tastebuds with some of the most unique and palatable drops from across the region that is internationally renowned for its Shiraz. But what would wine be without food? There’s a tonne of local produce to match. There’s no doubt Heathcote and its surrounding regional towns make for a great short break, so book some accommodation and make a weekend of it!

Melbourne International Comedy Festival

If laughing is the best medicine then visiting Melbourne in late March would make for one healthy holiday! As if Melbourne and its amazing food wasn’t enough of a reason to visit Victoria! The Melbourne Comedy Fest is the world’s third largest international comedy festival and attracts thousands of comedians performing varying styles from stand-up to cabaret! If your summer bod isn’t ready, it will soon be with this (almost) month-long ab work-out! The chuckle fest has something for everyone; it’s safe to say there won’t be a stitch-less stomach in the house. Bright Autumn Festival

‘Bright’ isn’t just referring to the place for this Australian festival, it’s also the general vibe to this 10-day art, food and wine celebration. Usually held over the last weekend in April and the first in May, you can expect autumnal hues of orange and yellow as you meander from galleries and markets to gardens in beautiful Bright. Just a three and a half hour drive from Melbourne, there’s more to this regional town than its colourful festival. Climb the peaks of Mount Buffalo National Park or cycle the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. We have a few close-by accommodation options to help you book the perfect short break away.

Queenscliff Music Festival

For the last two decades, this annual Australian festival has attracted locals and tourists alike to the Bellarine Peninsula for some easy listening of big-name local and international acts. It usually goes ahead during the last weekend in November, just as Victorian weather is on the incline. But it’s not only a celebration of sound, there are tonnes of appetizing food trucks from here and afar. Queenscliff is less than a 30-minute drive from Geelong which means you can recharge in some quality accomm in prep for all the good times ahead!
