Weather

Jodhpur, being Suncity, justifies the name. It is scorching hot from April July, Monsoon from August to September, moderate till October end and enjoys cold weather from November to Mid March.

Jaswant Thada

On the way to Mehrangarh, a beautiful scriptured Jaswant Thada is beautiful and mesmerizing giving glance to whole Blue city from its top. Entry Charges extra. Photography allowed. 

Mehrangarh Fort

Mehrangarh fort is the most beautiful, has unique architecture attaching with great historical stories. It has big museum with Former kings belonging and war materials. Famous temple at fort attracts quite a crowd during Navratra (9 days). Other than these, tourists all year round can plan to visit the place. It opens at 9 AM and closes at 5 PM. Entry Free. Mandore Garden

The garden has history of famous Ravana’s in-laws place, the garden is named Mandore after his wife’s name Mandotari. Is has some historical temple, ponds, lots of gardens, temples in small caves and historical stories attached to it. Entry Free. Photography allowed.

Kaylana Lake

For Boating and spend some peaceful time at Garden in the evening. Entry Free, Boating charges extra. Photography allowed.

Clock Tower

 Situated at inside Old City of Jodhpur, clock tower is major attraction among tourists and is renovated with beautiful interior and exterior recently. Ticket price Rs. 20/-. Photography allowed.

Shopping

Clock Tower

If you have visited Clock tower, you will find many local handicrafts shops around Clock tower. Be ready to bargain in order to get best of your deal. Do not worry about the quality, usually all the crafts and antiques are of high quality. You must try Lassi (a Dessert, from Mishri Lal Hotel) here in Clock Tower.

Tripoliya Bazar

For famous Bandhani Saree, Bandhani Salwar Suit, Bandhani Dupatta and stoles.

Sojati Gate

 For famous Jootis, visit shops outside Railway Station, hundreds of variety is available with color and designs. Be ready for bargaining to get your deal.

Handicrafts

Jodhpur is world famous for its antiques and handicrafts and stands in Top 5 in exporting to other countries. For any handicraft and antique item, please visit our very own manufacturing unit at inside old city only or order online at www.nearbysale.net to get it delivered at your doorstep for free. I would recommend you to purchase any handicraft antique or Bone inlay products from renowned shops only sometimes shopkeeper charges  very high from tourists.

Food

Food is the soul of Jodhpur. Do try Gulab Jamun (a Dessert, from Chaturbhuj, inside old city), Mava Kachori (a Dessert), Pyaz Ki Kachori, Mirchi Vada & Samsosa (from any namkeen vendor, they all are somewhat same and tastes good and have quality). Malai Roti (A Dessert, made from malai, by local restaurant Vijay Restaurant, and the only one in the Jodhpur who prepares the Dessert, roughly only 70 pieces a day).

Other than Desserts, Dal Baat Churma is the speciality of the city.

Tips- Pack your clothes according to the month you are visiting. Again refer point 1.

Ideally 2 days are enough to visit Jodhpur and immerse yourself in the hospitality and peace of the city with less traffic than many metro cities. Move to Jaisalmer after you finish your Jodhpur tour.
