Teaching Granddaughter how to be A Photographer

Teaching Granddaughter how to be A Photographer

Last weekend, we took her on a ride back along the River Road between the towns of Port Allen and New Roads, Louisiana.

Some people might not see places and objects to take pictures of in this area.  You have to look closely and have a keen eye for photoshots.

We Stopped several times to show objects that normally wouldn’t be interesting to most people.   Poor girl, each time we stopped, she had to crawl out of the back seat of a two-door car.  She didn’t really seem to mind and I think she was truly enjoying the adventure.

I did find out she likes to photograph landscrapes.   She took several shots of hay bales lying on the levee.

I even tried some new filters for my camera and learned some new tricks.

Some of the pictures taken by her, PawPaw had to watch for traffic because the best shot required standing in the middle of the road.

Looking for Gas

So we drove for about 2 hours along the levee and finally had to stop for gas.   It’s always a little nailbitting when you notice the gas gauge shows 8 miles until empty and you are no where near a station.

We did get to a station by surprise as we got near to New Roads.

After filling the tank and getting some water, we drove on into New Roads.

There is a very large building in town where annual craft shows are twice a year.  So we took her by that site and she enjoyed taking pictures of that building.  But she also found the old National Guard building with window that were shot out.   PawPaw stopped the car and out she jumped to do her photo taking.

From that point, we stopped downtown and walked to the False River landing to enjoy the view.

Off in the distance, we could see a storm heading out way.  We got back into the car and not far of the road, we met up with the rain.

Safely home after a very enjoyable afternoon with our Little Princess.  Hope she learned some photography tricks but mostly hope she enjoyed spending time with us.

The pictures inserted are the ones she took.  I will post more of her pictures on the photo page in a few days

In a few weeks, we are heading to the mountains of North Carolina.  I will post some of the pictures from this trip, including those taken by her.
