Fireworks Show waiting for San Giovanni

Every month, on the day 24th until May, it will be a Fireworks show in Villa Bardini, near to the Boboli Garden. This will be a preview of the main fireworks show which will take place during the feast day of the patron saint of Florence San Giovanni, on 24th of June.

This year there will be no need to wait 24th of June to see the fireworks show. Indeed, yesterday, was presented the initiative “Aspettando i fòchi. San Giovanni tutto l’anno.” (waiting fireworks. Whole year is San Giovanni).

The initiative starts on 24th January and every month allow visitors a chance to enjoy one minute show from the observation deck of Terrazza Belvedere in Villa Bardini, a beautiful 17th Century villa surrounded by the wonderful Bardini Garden, which dominates on Florence.

From 7 p.m., visitors can see one of the temporary exhibitions set up in Villa Bardini and, from 8 p.m., they can watch the show. After this, it will be a series of meeting, organized by the “Osservatorio delle tradizioni e del patrimonio culturale di Firenze e di San Giovanni (Observatory of traditions and Cultural Heritage of Florence and San Giovanni), about the history and origins of these fireworks.
