10 Necessary items to bring with you out hiking & camping to a remote location

This will cover you for the Camping on your hiking trip, it’s all the necessary equipment you will ever need.

  1. Ruck Sack
It’s the most important asset for any camping trip to bring with you, the comfort and the weight matters a lot – it will make a huge difference. Here is the best one from night to a week camping bag, easily adjustable to size and comfortable, zip pockets make it an easy access from the bottom or the side which is an amazing bonus.
  2. Water
You wont survive more than 3 days with out water, it’s the most important to bring with you, and if you are walking in a hotter country you might need about 5 litres a day or more. It’s your best energy medicine.
You can bring a water filter with you to save you carry a lot of water, and they are not that expensive. Without a filter water caries bacterias that can give a horrible Diarrhea which will affect your performance and ability to move at a steady pace.
  3. Food
You won’t survive long with out food, they say it’s about 3 weeks you can last with out, some less.
If you are going on a long trip I would recommend a ration pack, it’s taste okay but you can bring a lot more with you and it uses less space in your backpack, it has a lot of calories & energy busters in it.
  4. First Aid Kit
You never know what could possibly go wrong out hiking & camping, it could be a small twist in an ankle or could have a headache and that will defiantly slow you down in performance. Always carry one in a remote location.
  5. Compass & Map
This is the main guide for you into the direction your going and a tool for your way home. What else are you going to rely on more efficient? You have a possibility of buying a GPS or having a phone with you, for long journeys the battery won’t keep up unless if you get a solar ">portable charger.
  6. Waterproof clothing
In the mountains the weather can be a bit unpredictable, clouds form at a faster pace which can lead to rain, it’s an important thing to bring with you waterproof clothing, being wet might lead you to hyperthermia. Waterproof clothes generally don’t take up that much space.
  7. Extra clothing
It can get colder at nights and the temperature changes as you elevate higher up the mountain, you can lose about 1 degree every 150 meters you elevate. Making it a huge difference of temperature when you are at the top of the pick.
Gloves, hat and extra fleece is necessary for long hikes and in colder countries, even in hot countries if you are ascending a lot.
  8. Head Torch
For night time you will need a head torch and of course don’t forget to bring spare batteries with you just in case. You will need to see the compass & map with the head torch and on where you are going.
  9. Sleeping Bag
This is your bed for the night, colder at nights you’ll need a warmer sleeping bag, in some countries a sleeping bag with a mosquito face cover to stop them from biting you. Just make sure the temperature it can hold up to and the temperature in the location you will be staying to make the full comfort.
  10. Sleeping tent or hammock
In my personal opinion the hammock is the most comfortable for me to sleep over (With the hammock you will need a ">tarp which will cover the top from rain or wind), but you can also go out with the tent. You’ll need a shelter for the night, you can also make your own natural shelter in the woods to cover you from any weather that may come.

If you have anything to add feel free to comment and I’ll review it.
