Koh Samui is home to some of the world’s most exotic spa resorts, a haven to those seeking a journey back to rejuvenation, balance, and a healthy lifestyle. This year, go there for the strip down, ease those city-worn, end-of-the-rope-frayed nerves and get back to your lovable self and loved ones.

Ready? Here's the scoop.

Burnout Be Gone

A quietly opulent hill-top resort, Absolute Sanctuary, is exactly what it says: a world-class yoga centre that offers customised detox solutions (for burnout, stress, weight-loss, etc.) that blend exercise, food and spa treatments. Just arriving at Kamalaya -built around an ancient Buddhist temple and shrouded in tropical jungle overlooking the Southern coast – will lift your spirits and make you feel quite healthy. The surprisingly sumptuous vegan menu, the long - term solutions devised by a battalion of experts and the comforting isolation are delightful extravagances.

Feed Your Mind - Literally!

Every time I wander around the streets of a new place, I need to satisfy the hungry vulture in me by having good food. Koh Samui not only offers you the choice to dine in outstanding restaurants, but it also boasts a range of street food to choose from. Thai food stalls are scattered everywhere in Koh Samui – lining the streets, nightspots and also along the bustling beach roads. Among the other street foods available, I loved trying out Phad Tai (Stir fried noodles) and Som Tam (Papaya salad). The flavors used to make these Thai dishes leave you wanting more and more!

Tranquility Now

Leaving Koh Samui without a quick visit to the Buddhist temples and Chinese shrines, dotting the breathtaking island, would be a great mistake. The two impressive religious landmarks include the Wat Plai Laem, a majestic temple that features a striking statue of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion, and, in the same area, you can spot the Samui Big Buddha - a gigantic 15-meter seated Buddha facing the sea on the northeastern coast. These enchanting temples provide a serene place for those seeking peace and tranquility.
