A holiday at Los Angeles

The pulse of America’s film and television industry is the expansive Southern City of California, Los Angeles. The socially diverse city has an incredible tall list of attractions that appeals to creative mindsets as well as to people set out on having hordes of fun. It is a wonderful choice for a holiday destination. Whether it is to enjoy the lovely Californian sun, set your adrenaline rushing in the amusement parks or spend quality time in the many museums; LA has it all. 

Venice Beach:

A focal point of California is Venice Beach. The beach attracts tourists for its whimsical spirit. The boardwalk is vibrant with walkers and skateboarders. You can even catch body builders doing their weights and come across profound pamphleteers patronizing the promenade. You can treat your palateeither at a high end restaurant or at a local café, whatever your mood demands, at Venice Beach.

Walking Tour:

LA hosts the Conservancy Walking Tours where you can stroll around taking in the top sights of the city. You can leisurely admire the remarkable theaters in Downtown, the Art Deco buildings and the greatly developed skyline of the city in modern times. Make sure to have a booking in advance for this hugely popular tour.

Disneyland:

Everyone enjoys Disneyland, age no bar. Get caught up in the fantasy world and relive childhood imagination in this legendary theme park. The rides get your heart beat racing and the shows and music are incredibly entertaining.

Hollywood:

This iconic city is housed in a suburb of Los Angeles. Get a hands-on experience of the glamour of the celluloid at the Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame. Spotting the Hollywood Sign and visiting the Chinese Theater are equally fascinating. If it is your lucky day, you might just spot a celebrity or two.

The Broad:

A recent addition to Los Angeles’ cultural attractions is The Board. Opened in 2015, it was an instant hit. Admissions can mean hours of waiting, so a booking at least a month in advance is recommended. The displays in this museum is of work related to postwar as well as contemporary art besides large installations that have a dramatic appeal.

Exposition Park: 

The Exposition Park with an area of over 160 acres is home to the Natural History Museum, California African American Museum and the California Science Museum. It also has the Sports Arena, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, a Rose Garden and the Expo Center in its vicinity. While most visitors are here for a particular event in one of the venues, tourists find the Rose Garden amazing with its display of nearly thousand variety of roses, gazebos and a fountain.

Farmers Market:

For fresh farm produce head to the Farmers Market. A concept that began in 1934 by farmers as a result of economic depression, the encouraging results have made it the expansive and bustling market that stands today. In addition to farm fresh varieties of fruits and vegetables, you can also shop for anything from candles and kitchenware to toys and jewelry. Food stands and specialty shops are also a part of this market.

Page Museum and La Brea Tar Pits:

To get an astounding glimpse into the prehistoric period, a visit to Page Museum and La Brea Tar Pits is a must. Formed about 40,000 years ago, the La Brea Tar Pits are in Hancock Park. Oil seeped through these rocks and trapped many passing animals. The tar preserved the fossils of these animals through the ages which can be seen today. The Page Museum has on display reconstructed fossils of prehistoric animals like saber-toothed cats, mammoths and dire wolves. Replicas of extinct animals can be found in an outdoor area in this park.

Santa Monica:

A city next to LA, Santa Monica is a huge attraction for beach lovers. The golden sands of the beach, the highly popular Santa Monica Pier and Ferris wheel along with a host of shopping options make Santa Monica a thriving tourist spot.

Long Beach:

Situated to the south of LA, Long Beach stretches along the San Pedro Bay. The beach has some great places to explore to make your time interesting. The historic Queen Mary Ocean Liner is one. The others are the Aquarium of the Pacific and the Museum of Latin America. There is a boat to take you on a trip to Catalina Island from this beach as well.
