My experiences in Disneyland

Growing up with Disney books and Disney channels, Mickey and Donald are as much buddies ofmine as my children’s. So no wonder that a trip to this magical theme park had all our excitement on a peak. Started in 1955, Disneyland Park in Southern California is Walt Disney’s original theme park. Finding ourselves at the gates of this wonderland was like a dream come true for all of us.

Once we entered we were in a delirious fix at the extravagant choices for fun. There were eight themed lands named Main Street, USA, Tomorrowland, Mickey’s Toontown, Fantasyland, Frontierland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country and Adventureland. These choices are further categorized under attractions, entertainment, events and tours and of course dining options.

Described below are some of these out of the world options that gave us the time of our lives-

Alice in Wonderland:

An attraction of Fantasyland, the term ‘Curiouser and curiouser!’ from the epic ‘Alice in Wonderland’ came alive for us as we hopped on an oversized caterpillar to see the wonders here. We wound down the enchanted rabbit hole and soon got carried away to this wonderland of Queen’s Garden, Tulgey Wood, White Rabbit’s House and many more.

Casey Jr. Circus Train:

We watched as our children boarded the Casey Jr. Train in Fantasyland and enjoyed a memorable trip through Storybook Land. Storybook Land is filled with miniature versions of some of Disney’s classic settings like the house of the Three Little Pigs, Peter Pan’s manicured park, the Dwarfs’ Cottage from Snow White and the seven dwarfs and from many more fairy tales.

Astro Orbitor:

We had a chance to pilot a rocket at this amusement ride in Tomorrowland. The rocket zoomed off after the launch and began to rapidly cover a galaxy of planets giving us a chance to experience space travel. We felt very much in control as we steered the lever for all our worth!

Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road:

An amusement ride of Frontierland, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad train ride took us through a gold-mining town. The tunnels, caves, canyons, a roaring waterfall, rock formations, loose boulder hurtling down, remnants of an earthquake were but a few of the thrills that shook us making us wish that we were back safe in the station where it all started!

Buzz Light year Astro Blasters:

This attraction of Tomorrowland immediately became our son’s favorite as he fell headlong into an exciting space battle. The battle is the same as shown in the popular Disney’s Toy Story film series.

Mickey’s Toontown:

We all spent a nostalgic time at this Disneyland Park with the comic series of Mickey Mouse and all other Disney characters coming alive for us. Donald’s Boat, Goofy’s Playhouse, Chip ‘n Dale Treehouse. Minnie’s House and so many other delightful attractions made it hard for us to leave Mickey’s Toon house.

Indiana Jones Adventure:

From Adventureland, this attraction took us on a fantastic ride on a troop transport. The ride was fast-paced and made us experience what riding on rough terrain is all about as we embarked on this adventure to find Indiana Jones.

Fantasy Faire:

This part of Fantasyland had my daughter enthralled as her fairy tale princesses and princes were brought to life when they performed live before us. She shook hands with some of her favorite characters from all her fairy tales like Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Tangled.

Mickey’s Soundsational Parade:

We witnessed one of the most visually and audibly sensational parades of our life with this parade led by none other than our favorite Mickey Mouse on the drum. The music was all from classic Disney movies and as each of the characters paraded in front of us or in floats with their own musical instrument, we could not help but break into a lively jig. The parade started at 4.30 p.m. giving us a delightful start to a wonderful evening ahead.

Fireworks at Disneyland Park:

The night at Disneyland Park turned celebratorywhen spectacular fireworks lighted up the skies. The fireworks were in sync with the timeless Disney tunes making the experience truly magical for us.

Dining options were stupendous at Disneyland. There were barbecues, French cuisine, snack bars, ice cream parlors, cafes, popcorn and fruits carts all along and we felt that we had tried every dish in the planet by the end of our enchanting Disneyland tour.
