Kanyakumari: A journey of southern tip point of India

This town is the most southern tip point of the mainland (India) in Tamil Nadu state. It is surrounded by water. Kanyakumari is the only place where three seas meet on one place: in East Bay of Bengal, in the south Indian Ocean and in the west Arabian Sea and here sunrises in Bay of Bengal and sunset in the Arabian Sea.

So people come here for sunset tour to explore the natural beauty of it.

November to January is the best time to visit here. Because the climate of it is dry and hot so if you didn’t want to face its hotness then you should come here end of the year or start of the year. This is the much better option. Otherwise, you can make a holiday plan according to your suitable time.

Before going here, we should know some useful things:

It is well connected via all major cities. And it is also well connected by train and road to Thiruvananthapuram. And you can choose any medium to reach here: train, buses or cab.

Kanyakumari is well connected by train and road. But the train is much better than the road to reach here from other parts of India because it is too far from any part of India. Buses and cabs good for only south Indian guys.

It is a religious place for Hindus, so obviously many Hindu temples here and other places are situated here. Kanyakumari Temple, Tiruchendur temple, Sri Sthanumalayan Temple, Sri Thanumalayan Temple, Thirunanthikarai Cave Temple, Nagaraja Temple of Nagercoil. A very famous church St Xavier Church was built by St Francis Xavier is situated here. Thiruvalluvar Statue we can see on Vivekananda Rock, Vattakottai Fort, Padmanabhapuram Palace are other popular historical destination. Sothavilai Beach or Chothavilai Beach and Kanyakumari Beach are available for beach lovers. Olakaruvi Falls, Thiruparrapu Falls or Tirparappu Water Falls, and Mathoor Hanging Bridge are picturesque places to visit. Mahatma Gandhi Memorial or Gandhi Mandapam is also another place to visit. Kamarajar Manimandapam is made in memory of Sri Kamarajar, a freedom fighter and a veteran political leader of Tamil Nadu.
