Citizens of Mexico only need a national ID card and a $23 (usd) entrance fee upon arrival in Chile. No visa required which means one less thing to worry about before you head south. Historical origins are common between Mexicans and Chileans as a result of the Spanish Empire. Luckily, these beautiful yet diverse lands share a language. Keep in mind there are slight differences in accent and some words have double meanings. “Chucho” for example, is used to describe a skillful person according to Mexicans. In Chile, this is the word for jail or prisoner. Try not offend anyone, though I’m sure Chilean locals are bound to just laugh it off. Easy going and joyful are cultural similarities between these ancestral cousins.
