Spain is one the beautiful countries in Europe and vast to travel. Spain has a varied culture and lifestyle, and the first thing that flashes to any common person’s mind about Spain is the exotic, thrilling sports that it can boast of.

Language is a barrier in communicating in Spain, especially the central parts and smaller towns. One should be familiar with a few words to greet, when in Spain: like “Hola” Meaning Hello, “Gracias” meaning Thank you, “Buenos Diaz” meaning Good Day, “Por Favor” meaning Please. The Spaniards are very courteous people and hence one can learn some more words.

Spain has a beautiful country side. One could take an opportunity to travel to A. Coruna which is a beautiful hilly region, covered with mist and plentiful greenery. Of course, place like Malaga is worth visiting on a holiday. Additionally, there are several archipelagos surrounding Spain to choose from. Barcelona, being the capital, is one of the most beautiful places in the World. With the last Olympics held here, the infrastructure has been strengthened and made this a sought after city in Europe. Madrid is more a commercial city with the true hustle and bustle. Mind your pockets and beware of tricksters, especially while commuting by the Metro/ underground here. Alicante is one spectacular place with some stunning beaches.

There is a well placed network of Train connections called ‘Renfe’ across the country, connecting remote places as well. It is an over night journey from one end to the other of Spain. The country has a long coast line with some picturesque spots all along.

The Spanish Cuisine has a special identity as well. Vegetarians find it hard to get some good places. However, it was a real delight in one very exclusive Vegetarian Restaurant in Alicante, city centre, serving some excellent Spanish vegetarian dishes. One has to try a Paelea’, a very local dish. Meat eaters can enjoy a sumptuous variety in Spanish cuisine. It is memorable to enjoy a dinner at a sea side Restaurant which you find in plenty.

As regards the sports and culture of the Spaniards, there are some well known events in a year like the Tomato slinging festival, Bull chasing etc. Music has a special place in the life of the Spanish people. It is thrilling to watch youngsters in different groups singing their favourite numbers at the open place in Puerto del Sol, in Madrid, on week end evenings. It is like a carnival all around.
