What it Takes to Have a Great Hair Each Day

There are women whose morning hair looks as if they’ve just left the beauty parlor, and there are those whose tresses seem to have an innate rebellious streak that seems to spite bobby pins, bands, and hair clips. How come your colleague’s hair looks bang-on movie star every day while getting your locks to just sit still appears to be a mission impossible on most mornings, you may wonder? Here’s a little secret: to tame that wild mane and make it look amazing every day, you have to make friends with it, accept its stubborn nature, and see to it that its needs are met. And how exactly do you achieve that? It’s easier than it sounds: all you need is to devise a clever hair care regimen based on the tips listed below, and you’ll soon be waking up every morning to a fascinating reflection in the mirror.

Don’t Over wash It

Washing your hair every day strips the scalp of natural oils that are essential to hair health. To stay on the safe yet clean side of the hairdo, wash your hair two or three times a week tops (especially if your hair is dyed) and use dry shampoo only if you really have to. Cleanliness may be half your health, but too much shampoo is never a good idea, particularly when it comes to willful tresses. If possible, invest in an organic shampoo and conditioner: that way, you’ll avoid hair damage caused by chemicals often found in commercial hair care products.

Drying Made Safe(r)

If you have a habit of towel-drying your hair, split ends are probably a common sight. The same is true of using blow driers: all that heat can cause extensive damage to your hair and scalp, and if you don’t want to risk frayed ends, you should keep the drier away from your locks and allow your hair brief rest intervals during the drying. Allowing your hair to air-dry is best, as it doesn’t damage the follicle and allows your tresses to preserve their natural volume.

Moisturization is Key

Moisturizers, conditioners, and hair masks exist for a reason, and you should use them regularly if you want your hair to look shipshape every day. Quality hair products contain nutrients critical to frizz prevention, and they nourish and hydrate the follicle from the root up. Apply a soothing mask to your hair at least once a week, and don’t skimp on the conditioner if you want to have great hair every day.

Feed it from the Inside

A healthy hair isn’t just a matter of regular washing and follicle nourishment: your diet, too, has a hand in the shape of your locks. While nutrient-packed hair masks will restore the lost sheen to your tresses, a proper nutrition program rich in essential vitamins, minerals, and proteins will nourish your hair from the inside and help it stay healthy as years go by.

Comb It, Don’t Brush It

Combing instead of brushing your hair will minimize the risk of follicle damage and bring out the locks’ natural, healthy glow. This is especially true if you’re frequently struggling with snarls and knots: instead of just tugging at tangled ends until they give way, go gentle on unruly tresses using a wide-tooth comb, and make sure to use conditioner in every washing to prevent tangles.

Style Your Hair Right

Heat-styling can wreak havoc on hair, which is why a lady who wants her locks to stay healthy and chic should avoid it at all costs. The same goes for wearing tight pony tails and buns: tugging your hair too often or too intensely leads to fraying, and it can also damage the root, causing the hairs to fall out. For a hair that looks great every day, use clips, pins, and bands that don’t strain the hair follicle, and opt for loose rather than tight hairstyles.

No woman is born with stunning hair: it’s everyday tender, love, and care that strong, healthy locks are made of. Don’t over wash your hair, nourish it from the inside and the outside, air-dry it, use a comb instead of a brush, and don’t stress the tresses: your hair will reward you for the effort by superb looks every day.
