5 Tips for Your Wedding Party to Feel Appreciated

No matter what destination you choose for your wedding, it’s important to ensure everyone enjoys the planning and the day of the wedding. What’s the point of having a wedding if you’re miserable and so is your wedding party?

If you want your maid of honor and your best man to feel all in when it comes to your special day you want them to feel appreciated. After all, they have a lot on their own shoulders to fulfill their role. You can find out more about what they have to think about and plan when it comes to your wedding day.

1. Let Them Choose Their Dress

This is for the ladies it’s ok to let your bridesmaids choose their dress. You can give them a guideline on color or a color swatch if you have a preference but, allow them to choose based on their body shape and what they feel comfortable wearing.

Your bridesmaids each have their own individual personalities and styles and allowing them to choose what fits them best is a great way to show them they are appreciated. This will also allow your bridesmaid to choose a dress they can afford and more than likely they will invest in a dress they can wear again in the future.

2. Consider Their Finances

Many people are on tight budgets and being part of your bridal party might mean some financial sacrifices for your wedding. Try your best to not demand your wedding party to spend money on unnecessary items or events.

Whenever you can pick up the tab to alleviate some financial burden for them do it. For example, you can pick up the bill for their jewelry, their hair accessories or even their shoes.

You can also consider paying for their hair and makeup on the day of the wedding. There are bridal packages that you can look into where they give a price for everyone in the bridal party with no surprises on extra costs.

3. Be Grateful

Never ever assume that your wedding party knows you appreciate them. Take time out of your busy planning to remind them that you’re grateful that they’re part of your special day. Be intentional about thanking them randomly.

Saying thank you will come a long way and will show that you care and truly are grateful that they’re a part of your wedding squad.

The fact that they said yes shouldn’t be taken lightly. They are sacrificing time and money to be part of one of your most special days. This is a big deal and they need to feel that you know that it’s a big deal that they said “yes.”

4. Don’t Be a Bridezilla

We’ve all seen or heard of a bridezilla before. Don’t be one of those! This is the quickest way to make your bridal party feel unappreciated and like you only care about you.

Schedule times to hand with your party before the big day to do something fun and not wedding related. go bowling, catch a movie, or have coffee. Most importantly always remember that a wedding is a joyous occasion not a time to feel or make your party feel like it’s a terrible job they don’t want to do.

Share good news with your wedding party, not all the things that don’t go as planned. Don’t be the complaining, bad attitude bride. That’s the quickest way to lose your entire bridal party.

5. Get a Gift You Would Love

It’s a normal custom to give the wedding party a gift as a way of saying thank you for being part of your wedding day. Be thoughtful when it comes to choosing a gift. Don’t choose a gift for the sake of choosing a gift.

Instead, put some thought into it and choose something you personally would love and use. There are endless options such as personalized gifts or something you know they need. The point is to gift them with something they can use for years to come and think about your wedding day every time they pick up their gift to use it.

6. Let Them Sit with Their Friends and Family

The day of the wedding some couples choose to have a head table with their entire party next to them. If your wedding party doesn’t really know each other or they have their significant others attending the wedding but aren’t part of the party, consider scratching the head table idea.

If either one of the above scenarios is true for your wedding party they will appreciate sitting with those they know and love instead.

You can have a head table with only the bride and groom instead of forcing everyone to sit next to you both.
