We caught up with Brandi Haynes, Beauty Guru and founder of PrettyPRChick, to talk about her blog. From Buffalo NY, Brandi is all about showcasing affordable options for the most popular looks. Her blog focuses on beauty reviews, shopping hauls, swatches and tutorials. Brandi has made a name for herself as an influencer and gets invited by brands to review luxury products before they’re released. Read on to learn more about her.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Brandi Haynes. I am the owner of PrettyPRChick as well as a YouTube channel called PrettyPRChickTV. Both focus on everything beauty, fashion and hair related and sometimes feature exclusive event coverage and travel vlogs. PrettyPRChick loves to connect with like-minded people and cultivate relationships between brands, bloggers and vloggers globally.

What got you blogging?

My passion for bargain shopping, beautifying things, and social media marketing led to the creation of PrettyPRChickTV.

What is the most popular topic on your site?

I think it’s a tie between travel/adventure vlogs and makeup hauls. I recently created a monthly segment called #NewInBeauty where I showcase and test out new high-end beauty products before they’re released. I wanted to share a sort-of behind-the-scenes test run with my viewers before they decided whether or not to run out and buy the next highly anticipated product release. It has become a real hit. I also travel quite a bit and attend a lot of YouTube community events. I usually share my entire experience from beginning to end and people really seem to enjoy that.

What is your goal for your blog?

I want to continue to put out the best content. I want to grow as a writer, editor and producer. My goal is to produce content that I am proud of and that people find helpful.

Who do you write for?

My site addresses the needs of women 18-34 who love looking stylish but don’t necessarily want to pay a fortune to keep up with the latest fashion and beauty trends. That includes a combination of new product reviews, shopping hauls, step-by-step tutorials and ideas on how to achieve a flawless look on a budget.

What do you find most interesting about your audience?

That they are all so different from one another. I have followers that are mid-western housewives, college students, beauty gurus, chic European fashionistas… you name it. I like the fact that they feel like we have a real connection with one another. They’re like my big extended family. My YouTube subscribers and blog readers usually migrate over to my Instagram @PrettyPRChick and Snapchat (PrettyPRChick) accounts and we chat and interact on a daily basis. I love it!

What is something that you have learned about blogging recently?

I never really realized until pretty recently the real power of social media. Whenever I posted a product review I would tag the brand on twitter or Instagram assuming that they would just check out that post and that post only. Boy was I wrong. A few months ago, the PR Director from one of the largest cosmetics brands in the world, emailed me asking me to become one of their partner influencers. I was beyond excited! When I went on to read the rest of the email, she mentioned that she had found me through one of the posts that I tagged them in for a product review. She was so in love with my content that she checked out the rest of my blog and watched a recent vlog that I had posted, multiple times.
