As what happened with the CEO of TESLA that Elon Musk stated Artificial Intelligence as

“The Biggest Risk”

declaring it the most serious to the survival of THE Human race.

So, it’s about something came under the vision of all researchers and AI developers that Facebook shuts down a pair of AI based robots. But as what happened that a company like Facebook which is working in the development of future shuts down a project based on Artificial Intelligence.

And, why the CEO of THE TESLA Stated Artificial Intelligence as the

“It is the biggest existential threat.”

knowing that their ongoing projects and concept for driverless cars are also based on Artificial Intelligence.

Recently, a week ago, researchers at Facebook shut down 2 of their robots/chatbots based on Artificial Intelligence nicknamed “Alice” and “Bob”. These 2 robots are specially designed for research and development in the field of AI. They are designed in a manner to communicate in English so that humans can also understand what actually is going on. Basically, these robots are designed to learn how to negotiate by mimicking human trading and bartering.

Later, when these chatbots were made to trade to each other, in the process, these chatbots somehow created their own language to communicate. Due to their learning process and some how change in their inbuilt program, they made each other to communicate in a different language which is not human understandable.

This is how they conversated to each other :

What happened is that the robots are designed to learn about trade and bartering where these AI at Facebook only undertake actions that result in a reward. But since Facebook’s team assigned no reward for conducting the trades in English, the chatbots quickly developed their own terms for deals.

“There was no reward for sticking to the English language.”

And so, Facebook shut down these 2 chatbots. It basically showed how AI at current stage took the concept of “reward system” seriously and changed itself into which AI was more efficient to communicate.

Also, Facebook stated that when the chatbots conversed with humans most people did not realize they were speaking to an AI rather than a real person.

So, what arises the main question is really AI is that technology which could be the biggest risk and will become the existential threat to the human race. Or, we should do more development in the field of AI.

Well if AI will be able to do what humans can, it is not wrong to say that they will surely do these things in a far better way than human and can become the biggest threat to humans. Is this the beginning stage of “Terminator” of our world and the development of The “Matrix”?
