Why Cloud Computing Service is Imperative for Businesses

As IT field evolves, it becomes more mature, the need to optimize cost naturally drives the innovation and creativity. The new concept coupled with technology, which is now doing the rounds is “Cloud Computing Services”.

What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud Computing, though recently gaining in popularity, is not a new concept and has been in existence for about a decade. Cloud computing is a system where a pool of high-powered computer resources serves data and applications from a central location over the internet. No special software is required to utilize these applications. For example, a few popular cloud-based apps that are widely used today are the free email offering such as Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Hotmail. Facebook also comes in cloud computing solutions.

Applications “in the cloud” may be accessed using a standard Internet browser, from any location, and without requiring special software. Although some cloud-based apps may require a certain browser plug-in, cloud apps generally allow users to access them without installing additional software on their computers or devices.

Cloud computing offers numerous types of services, including infrastructure, software, storage, security, data, test environment, desktop, application program interface and cloud computing platform. For example, customers using a software as a service will usually rent the software applications and databases. The cloud providers manage the platforms and infrastructure on which the application runs, similar to how web-hosting is now provided to individual users.

Cloud Computing Platform

Before implement cloud to your organization, it is imperative to check whether it is fit for a given environment, you have to understand the general concept. There are different deployment models, platforms, and applications of cloud that help to make up a cloud environment. It includes Community cloud, private cloud, public cloud and hybrid cloud. Here we are going to explain to all these models so that you will not face any difficulty while choosing which platform is suitable for your organization.
  • Public Cloud: This cloud computing service is suitable for the general public and a large group of the organization and is owned by a third party vendor that sells or offers free of service, a cloud that can be used by the general public.
  • Community Cloud: When a group of people wants to share their resources with one another, then there is a need for an interface that will help to share their resources and this architecture is known as community cloud. This community is also called a mini public cloud, but only a selected group of an organization will be authorized to access this community. Generally, most of the groups of organizations are choosing this cloud computing platform for their business.
  • Private Cloud: This cloud computing platform is established to support only one small organization.
  • Hybrid Cloud: This cloud is a mixture of two or more clouds (private, public or community). It allows some of the resources to be managed by a public cloud environment, while others are managed by a private cloud.

Cloud computing service has the potential to change the way organizations view and deal with IT needs. So, it is vital to include cloud computing for your current and future needs.
