Xiaomi delays Redmi Note 7, Note 7 Pro launch to March in India

Xiaomi has already hyping about the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro that was launched in China a week ago. Although slated to launch sometime this month (probably February 11), the latest report suggests that the two budget smartphones will not launch anytime this month. The launch has been delayed to date some day in March when Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi will hold an official launch in the Indian market.

Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro under the budget category in China last week followed by an Indian launch this month. However, the Note 5 successor aka Note 7 is expected to launch alongside Note 7 Pro and Redmi Go (Android Go enabled) in March although there is no official date confirmed or at least it hasn’t appeared anywhere yet.

Xiaomi has been hyping about upcoming budget segment Redmi Note 7/Note 7 Pro a lot with the hashtag ‘#ԀW8ᔭ’ since these two smartphones will be the first-ever to sport a 48MP main sensor which is insane to think about for instance assuming that the base price for Redmi Note 7 (3GB) is well below approximately Rs 15,000/-.

Speaking about the specs, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 offers a 6.3-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display with 1080×2340 pixel resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The device is powered by an Adreno 512 GPU and an octa-core 14nm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor. The most impressive aspect of Note 7 is its stunning dual-camera setup at the back featuring a 48MP (Samsung ISOCELL GM1) main sensor and a 5MP depth sensor where the former will be able to produce stunning photos at 12MP thanks to the Xiaomi’s 4-in-1 pixel binning technology.

The Note 7 Pro features a similar 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor at the back along with 5MP depth sensor. It has slight improvements over the standard Note 7 such as it has an 11nm Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor which without any confusion is faster than the SDM660 used in the base variant.

Manu Kumar Jain on Twitter

Xiaomi ♥️ #MiFan Few days ago I met passionate Mi Fans in B’lore & discussed about our upcoming #ԀW8ᔭ phone! It will surely turn the industry upside down. 😎 Got some really great feedback.

Xiaomi India’s head Manu Kumar Jain held a small event where he invited some of the Mi fans to explore the yet-to-be-released Redmi Note 7 for which, he posted the images on Twitter along with the annotation that the smartphone appearing in these photos is actually Note 7 which is expected to be priced roughly between Rs 12,460/- to Rs 14,540/- for its variants as per the Chinese price tags while the ‘Pro’ model will fetch a slightly higher price tag.
