China unveil AESA radar for JF-17/FC-1 fighter

China has unveiled an advanced under-development Aesa Radar to equip the JF-17/FC-1 fighter jet developed for Pakistan.

Dubbed the LKF601E, the advanced air cooled radar was unveiled during the 2018 Zhuhai Air Show.

The single engined JF-17 is flown by Pakistan Air Force and has bagged export orders from Myanmar and Nigeria.

The Active Scanned Electronic Array (AESA) radar is the latest evolution in radar technology, which replaces the mechanically steered antennas with electronic ones. Along with improved detection capability, the AESA radar improves stealth, as it spread signal across a wider frequency range.
