Egyptian MiG-29 crashes during training

A newly delivered Egyptian Air Force MiG-29 fighter crashed during a military exercise on Saturday.

The aircraft crashed during a military training exercise and the pilot managed to safely eject from the aircraft.

Under a 2015 deal, Egypt and Russia signed a contract to deliver 46 of the advanced MiG-29M2 fighters to Egyptian Air Force.

Around 15 MiG-29 were delivered to Egypt since first delivery in January 2018.

Egypt is also acquiring 36 front line Dassault Rafale jets from France, to bolster its Air Force which is primarily equipped with the F-16 multi-role fighter.
