HEAVY DUTY VACUUM CLEANERS

Heavy duty vacuum cleaner are vacuum cleaners that are meant for extraction of any type dust for long hours of working. The type of dust it can extract can be pharmaceutical dust, metal dust, metal chips or shavings, dust generated in food industry or even a combustible dust.

These type of vacuums are usually powered by a heavy duty tur bine blower or a side channel blower as illustrated in the pictures below. These blowers are very powerful as they are being driven by induction motor. Induction motors that run at 1450 rpm or 2800 rpm can easily run for long working hours and (unlike brush motors) they can also sustain heavy load of work.

These vacuums are usually tailor made and are designed keeping in mind the specific application for which they are supposed to be utilized. The vacuum power, the airflow rates, the container size and filters are designed keeping in mind the quantity, micron size, weight and nature of the dust.

For example, In Pharma companies the dust found is usually lighter and have very minute micro size. For such application usually smaller micron filter is substituted to the usual 5 micron size filter. A hepa filter is also added at the exhaust end to avoid any contamination to escape the environment.

Usually manufacturers get these Dry Vacuum cleaners certified for several dust classes by the German "IFA" (Institut für Arbeitsschutz der Deutschen Gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung/ Institute for Occupational Safety of the German Social Accident Insurance, former "BGIA").

Following dust classes exist:
M = average safety
M/B1 = average safety/explosion protected
H = high safety
H/B1 = high safety/explosion protected

The manufacturer or the dealer will send in the expert to study the application. Depending upon which class the specific dust is from the expert will then suggest the best possible vacuum cleaner design that will suit the customer application, weather it be a M class or a H class.
