Erangel, the playing field where PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds started, will receive a Visual Upgrade next week. That coincides with the start of the fourth season of Pubg on the PC. The same update comes out for consoles at the end of the summer.

PUBG Corp. has already made the changes on the test server of the game and from July 24 all players will see the updated version of Erangel . According to the makers, the playing field is thereby drawn more in line with newer levels of the battleroyal game. Both the terrain and the buildings on the island have been renewed. Erangel is the island where players can play since the first version of PUBG.
PlayerUnknown’s Updates Battlegrounds now coincide with new seasons, which include new content, skins and game play updates. Those seasons also entail a paid Survivor Pass, with missions and rewards. The fourth season in PUBG lasts twelve weeks and ends on October 15.
The makers of the game have also put a cinematic trailer online that hints at more background story about the island of Erangel. The updated map and missions in the new season should provide more clues about the history of the location.
