The privacy-friendly Search engine DuckDuckGo has integrated maps of Apple Maps. Certain search results show relevant locations, without the privacy of users being at stake.

DuckDuckGo claims to be one of the first global companies using the Apple MapKit JS. “We can now offer users improved address results, visual displays, satellite images and current maps,” according to the search service.

The company also promises not to collect or share personal data of users during the integration. The search appliance says no personal data such as IP address to Apple or third parties and location data would be deleted after use.

The floor plans with results appear on searches and DuckDuckGo has a Maps tab for Apple Maps. DuckDuckGo is one of several search services that claims to respect the privacy of users. The Dutch StartPage is also such a service.
