How to create the perfect aircraft?
When designing aircraft, there are many aspects in which we can be sure, but also many uncertainties. Most of them are random, while others are simply not well understood. University of Illinois professor Harry Hilton took several mathematical and physical theories to consider problems in a more general sense and solve physical technical problems.

“There are many equations, because there are many phenomena. They are an attempt to describe mathematically physical phenomena in such a way that you can solve these problems. But words alone cannot solve them. It turns out that the problem is to create the perfect aircraft for special missions and goals, ”says Harry Hilton, honorary professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Illinois Engineering College in Urbana-Champaign. Hilton examines the models independently of each other, and then folds them.

So that the planes do not fall
Hilton’s analysis derived a new model that takes into account many, but not all, known phenomena. These analyzes form a linear beginning as a step towards the real non-linear world of accidents.

“We use both mathematics and physics in the design, but with limitations. In physics, we do not always understand what is happening, ”he says. “Here also. There are principles that are not yet resolved. Mathematics is a very exact science, but we tend to build equations, based on what we can solve, not on what we have to solve. ”
