Sony has Sold a total of three million copies of its PlayStation VR headset. The manufacturer has announced this himself. That means that 3 to 4 percent of the owners of a PS4 console bought the vr headset.

Sony has sold the number of three million VR headsets sold in about a year and nine months; the PSVR went on sale in the autumn of 2016. It is unknown how the PSVR compares to the competition, because Facebook and HTC do not reveal exact sales figures for the Oculus Rift and the Vive respectively.

In total around 3.5 percent of the owners of a PS4 have purchased the PSVR, as can be deduced from the figures. Sony sold around 81.5 million copies of the PS4 so far. According to the company , a total of 21.7 million games and ‘experiences’ have been downloaded for the PS4. That means that there are seven on average per headset.
