The Dutch streaming service Nlziet is working on an Apple TV app and will start a beta test at the end of next month. According to the service, many users have asked for such an app. Competitor Knippr already had an Apple TV app, but that service stops.
NLZiet announces the arrival of the Apple TV app in a press release and also informed users of the service via e-mail. The service asks whether people are interested in testing the app; the beta version should be ready by the end of May.
The Apple TV app from NLZiet will be available for the fourth and fifth generation of the Apple TV cabinet. Through the app users can view the programs of NPO, RTL and SBS, both live and afterwards and sometimes before the broadcast.
Knippr, a competitive service for streaming television channels, already has an Apple TV app. However, T-Mobile announced last month that it will stop Knippr from 1 June. According to the provider, the service has too few subscribers to be profitable.
