Change Your Mac OS X Dock Color/Boot Image

Ever wanted to customize the look of your Mac's boot up image or Dock color?  Then take a look at these applications called "Docker" and "BootXChanger".  Both of these are free to download.

Docker
This application allows you to customize your dock without having to be
an experienced programmer.

Wanna add your own image for the background of your dock?  Or maybe you want the 2D dock that came with Mac OS 10.4, Docker enables you to do those things.  Additionally you are given options to change some other settings such as "prevent icons from bouncing".  This application is free/donationware and works on Mac OS 10.2 and later so check it out if you are interested.

Here is what my dock looks like

BootXChanger
If you have grown tired of seeing the same boot up image on your Mac then you should download BootXChanger.  It lets you add your own image to replace that dull apple.  Not only that but you can change the color of the background as well (but not to an image though).

One issue with this application is that not all Macs will show your image at its full size, meaning it may just shrink it down to the original logo size.  If you are at all interested download it and give it a try.  The application saves the default boot image so you can change it back if you need to.  You must have an Intel Mac with 10.4 or higher to use this.

Thank you for reading and feel free to ask any questions or comments below.  If you do use any of these applications, post a screenshot of your new dock or boot image.
