In Ceramic discipline, the statement Glass signifies every amorphous component of a ceramic mixture. More commonly glass is an apparent silica product which may be amorphous or crystalline, based on the heat treatment. Glasses may be either inorganic or organic. Vitreous material or inorganic glasses are the fusion products which during solidification from a liquid state fail to crystallize.
