The Marina Barrage in Singapore is a relatively new project. It is a dam that has officially been open for just over a year. It has many different functions that aids Singapore by creating a fresh water source, flood control system, and it is a new recreational attraction for the people of Singapore. All these attractions are viewable by the general public. Not only is this a dam but there is a green roof atop the building where there is also a solar park. The solar park helps power the dam and pumps. The green roof is an open park that is free for visitors and is a great place to relax and watch the sunset. There is a bridge that visitors can cross and view the giant pumps up close. There is a Visitor's Center that offers tours and educational sessions on how to become sustainable and how the Marina Barrage is a huge leap for Singapore into a greener future.
