Ergonomic Vertical Mouse Review

For as long as I can remember, there is only one kind of computer mouse. Whether it’s a different brand or a different shape, wired or wireless, the orientation is still the same. Until recently, there’s a new way to hold your mouse. It’s called a Vertical Mouse and it’s becoming more and more popular. In this article, we are going to talk about, whether is this a fad or has the future of PC experience changed forever.

What is a Vertical Mouse?

A lot of people don’t know this, but a vertical mouse is pretty much self-explanatory. It’s a mouse that has a vertical orientation. See, a regular mouse will force you to use it with your wrist twisted downward. For people who use this for an extended period of time, it causes pain. Doctors diagnosed this as the Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). And one form of RSI is the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. These are serious injuries due to prolonged use of the conventional mouse.

The vertical mouse offers an anatomically rested position of the wrist. It’s just like sitting on a table naturally where your hand is in an “hand-shake” position. Unlike before on the regular mouse where your forearm is twisted. Furthermore, using a conventional mouse limits the movement of your elbows. A vertical mouse will force you to move your elbows which is good for your joints.

Change is never easy, the transition may be awkward at first. However, the vertical mouse makes a very compelling case for making your PC experience even better than before.

Perfect For Your First Time Experience

Anker Wireless Vertical Mouse

A familiar name brand that will put you at ease. This is a mid-class vertical mouse that has 3 DPI settings (800 /1200 /1600). It uses Bluetooth as connectivity as it comes with a Bluetooth dongle right off the box.

The Anker wireless vertical mouse only weighs 95 grams. Its very light yet it doesn’t feel cheap. It has a front and backward button which is positioned perfectly for net browsing. The sensor is not that great. I wouldn’t recommend it for professional gaming, but it would very much suffice for office works.

What I hate about this product, is that it doesn’t run on rechargeable batteries. It uses two AAA batteries that are not even included in the packaging. However, a pair of AAA batteries can last up to 3 months. You can purchase the Anker Wireless Vertical Mouse at Amazon.com.

Yes, the name of the product can be a mouthful. This is my favorite vertical mouse because it’s wired . Some people hate the idea of a mouse running on AAA batteries. I know because I’m one of them. Standard plug and play mouse that connects via USB port.

This is a reasonably priced product. The quality build is very good. Your palm is going to rest on a rubber like surface while the fingertips rest on a metal like buttons. Furthermore, The buttons click beautifully and so is the sensor response. Pressing the scroll does not feel whimsy at all. Lastly, You will also find a forward and backward button on the thumb rest.

It also has 3 DPI settings which you can toggle on the very top of the device. Also, the palm rest and thumb buttons are removable in case its bothering you. The angle of this product is very high that it almost feels like using a bottle as a mouse. I highly recommend this product if you’re going for a wired one. The cheapest left handed vertical mouse you will ever find. The first feature that it has, is its wired. Secondly, the materials used in this product are obviously cheap. The feel of the mouse is very plastic which makes it very light. Lastly, there are no other button features in the mouse other than the basic buttons.

Despite of all this, it gets the job done. If you’re a lefty and you have budget constraints, this product will suffice. Very few companies bothered to create a left handed vertical mouse and this is definitely a worth buy if you’re looking to start using a vertical mouse. Vertical Mouse is the future of PC experience. This is definitely not a fad, it’s an evolution. With the exception of professional gaming, a vertical mouse can do anything a regular mouse can do. Furthermore, this saves you from any body pain a regular mouse can give you.
