The GameSir X1 BattleDock connects via Bluetooth to your mobile device. Its minimum requirement for compatibility is only Android 4.0 or IOS 7. Therefore, this product allows the use of keyboard and mouse on almost any mobile devices. There are two USB slots on the side of the GameSir X1 BattleDock, one for the keyboard and the other for the mouse. As soon as you plug anything on the USB ports, it will automatically turn on.
The GameSir X1 Battledock packaging comes with a charging wire, a manual, and the product itself. The product was not well packaged which was a bit disappointing. Furthermore, no wall charger included so you’re going to have to provide one on your own. It has a dimension of 5.31 x 4.02 x 1.22in. As a result, this is a very portable device. You can fit it into any bag of any size. Uniquely, it only weighs 0.61lbs.
The GameSir X1 BattleDock has a very durable feel to it. It is painted silver that makes it look like metal. In addition, it has a bracket where you can place your device. This bracket has 2 screws that allow the GameSir X1 BattleDock to hold your device on your desired angle and height. Lastly, It has a collapsible design that keeps the portability while offering this feature.
Equipped with a 3000mah battery, a full charge is enough to last you for at least 4 hours of play time. It comes with 4 light indicators in front that will tell battery charge. The lights also turn on when you plug a device into the USB ports. It has a blue light on the side which indicates Bluetooth activity. If the light is blinking, it means it’s looking for a pair up. In addition, if the blue light is steady, it means it has successfully paired with a device.
HOW IT WORKS
The GameSir X1 BattleDock is not a magic gadget. It won’t make a mouse pointer suddenly appear on your screen. It uses its own platform that can detect its button remapping feature. As a result, it doesn’t work on all applications. You have to download the corresponding platform first, and then find the application you want through that platform. Make sure you download the English version as there are Chinese versions of the games.
The platforms are different if your IOS or Android. For IOS, the platform is called Happy Chick. For the android, the platform is called GameSir World App.
GAMING EXPERIENCE
Playing on a mobile device isn’t always easy. Controls are always going to be a challenge. Not to mention, speed and accuracy suffer most of the time. Using 4 fingers is hard especially on a mobile phone. Most of the time those fingers are always blocking your sight.
The GameSir X1 BattleDock works amazingly well. Despite its wireless connectivity, it has virtually no lag. Thanks to its Bluetooth 4.0 feature, it works blazing fast. As a matter of fact, it runs very smooth and it’s very easy to connect to your device. Just point and shoot, and it delivers an almost PC like experience.
The initial installation might take a little bit of time. It took me about 40 minutes to completely set it up, but after that, everything should be smooth. In-game purchases might also cause some problems as you are running your game through a different platform.
VERDICT
If your playing on a mobile device and you want to be competitive, I definitely recommend this product. Besides the fact that it has zero lag which is amazing, it is portable and very easy to use. Furthermore, it gives you a PC like experience on your mobile device that you’ve always wanted.
