Be safe while using Internet

Hi guys! Welcome to Take me 2 Tech.

As time is passing more and more people are using the internet.

By this increment in the usage of the internet, cyber crimes are also increasing day by day.

CYBER CRIME:

For the readers who don’t have any idea of cybercrime. Cybercrimes are criminal activities carried out by means of computers or the Internet.

The people who do these cyber crimes use many ways to steal your money or to upload the virus to your computer.
Today we will discuss some of these illegal activities and how to protect yourself from these activities.
  • Fake websites and apps:

Most of the time cybercriminals create apps and websites similar to some famous apps and websites. These are very similar to the original ones but the name/URL has a slight difference. These websites/apps ask you to enter your login details and once you enter your login details in them, they steal your account details.

To protect yourself from these fake apps and websites make sure to check the developer of the app and URL or the website.

  • Keylogger:

A keylogger is a software which records all your keyboard keystrokes after installing it to your computer. The person who installed it on your computer can access the log of all the keys pressed by you.

Public computers might contain keyloggers installed into them and when you type anything from the keyboard, the computer owner can get all your login details.

To protect yourself from the keylogger, never enter your personal details on public computers/cyber cafe and never download any third party software on your personal computer.

  • Fraud E-mails:

Everyone use E-mail for their personal works. It is the best way to connect with anyone. With the help of E-mail, we can explain our scheme to everyone. But nowadays many cheaters are sending fraud E-mails to internet users who offer you to win many expensive products or lottery and then will take some money from you. These type of E-mails come from unknown persons. The language of these E-mails is very attractive. Most of the users are not able to find the truth behind these E-mails. Similarly, some E-mails will come some kind of attachment and once you download the attachment it will install virus or keylogger on your computer.

To protect yourself from this fraud, never send your personal information to the person you don’t know and never download anything from any unknown E-mail.

  • Asking Credit card details on phone:

Many banks alert their users not to share their credit card details on phone. Many cheaters call the bank users and ask their credit card details. They use many ways for this like they call and inform the victims that their credit card is going to expire and then ask their card details. Then they steal your money.

To protect yourself from this fraud, never share your credit card details with anyone on phone.

  • Fake advertisements:

If you see any product on the internet whose price is very less than the original one then be careful. We get many discounts on products when we shop online, but if you will see 80-90% discount on any product then be aware. Most of the time they take full amount in advance and then send you stolen good or they will never send you the product.

To protect yourself from this fraud, always shop from authorised dealers only.

Conclusion:

Never share your personal details on E-mail or phone with the person you don’t know and never download/shop from third-party websites.
