Book by Cadillac subscription service is about to relaunch

Last month Cadillac hit the pause button on its Book by Cadillac subscription service, but that doesn’t mean that it’s done. When Cadillac announced that its subscription service was being put on hold, it also confirmed that it would come back at some point.

Now Cadillac President Steve Carlisle has confirmed that Book by Cadillac is about to come back. Speaking to GM Authority at the Detroit Auto Show, Carlisle stated, “We’re getting ready for a reboot now.”

When Book by Cadillac launched, it came with a $1,800 monthly fee that gave users access to a fleet of Cadillac vehicles that they could swap at any time. After it launched, Cadillac discovered that users weren’t swapping vehicles as much as the brand anticipated, so the relaunch won’t focus as much on vehicle swaps.

“It’s been interesting to watch what people sign up for, and what they actually do in terms of switching vehicles, which is not a lot,” Carlisle stated. He also revealed that subscribers were more interested in the XT5 than its V-series performance cars.

Book by Cadillac 2.0 will reportedly relaunch in the second quarter of this year.
