Honor India has launched a new mid-range smartphone, the Honor 8X. The highlight of the Honor 8X is its dual camera setup at the rear with AI tech and also the front camera with 1 16-megapixel sensor.
It is also equipped with Dolby Atmos surround sound for a better audio quality and the company’s own GPU Turbo Technology to enhance the gaming performance.
The company also announced the pricing and availability of the Honor 8X in India. It’ll be available as Amazon exclusive. We’ll discuss the pricing and availability in detail below.
Honor 8X Specifications and Features
Despite being a mid-range device, the Honor 8X gives you a premium feel because it is well-crafted in a glass-finish with a double textured design and 15 layers of aurora glass at the rear. We get a notch on the display and the screen-to-body ratio at 91 percent.
It flaunts a big 6.5-inch full-HD+ display offering the resolution of 1080×2340 pixels translating to a pixel density of 397ppi. The aspect ratio is 19.5:9. Under the hood, it is driven by HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset coupled with Mali G51 GPU for graphics.
As mentioned earlier, the cameras are the main highlight of the Honor 8X. The rear camera is equipped with AI capability and has dual sensors of 20-megapixel (primary) and a 2-megapixel (secondary). On the front, there is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and fixed focus.
Using the AI capability, you can scan a product with the camera and it automatically searches it online for the user to purchase. Some of the other camera features include AR stickers, Portrait mode, HDR, and Super Night Scene, AI Super Super-Slow motion modes, and multi-scene recognition as well.
For security, there is a fingerprint sensor at the rear as well as it also supports Face Unlock feature. You also get triple slot tray so that you can use dual SIMs and a microSD card simultaneously.
The Honor 8X runs on Android Oreo topped with EMUI 8.2.0 skin and will be available in 4GB RAM+64GB storage, 6GB RAM+64GB storage and 6GB RAM+128GB storage options. The smartphone packs a non-removable 3,750mAh battery with support for 5V/2A (10W) charging and a power saving battery features.
In terms of connectivity, the handset comes with 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v4.2 LE with aptX support, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, a Micro-USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Honor 8X Price and Availability
Honor 8X price in India starts at Rs. 14,999 (4+64GB), INR 16,999 (6+64GB) & INR 18,999 (6+128GB). It’ll be available exclusively via Amazon India in its first sale on October 24, 2018.
