Creating a New Item in P21

Today, we are going to be learning how to create a new item in P21.  If you’ve never done it before, Creating a new item can be a hassle.  You’ll find yourself spammed by the dreaded, “Hey!  You forgot this field!” popup.  Required fields are almost buried within all of the different tabs!  Not to mention that some of the themes (and the Web Client) don’t show you which fields are required.

In this video, I am going to show you the bare minimum of what you need to create a new item.  I’ll also go over where you need to go to create the items as well.  Whether you’re on the version or the Web Client, just creating the new Item ID can be difficult.  That’s why we go through the entire process in this video!  You’ll be able to walk away knowing the ins and outs of Item ID creation!

Creating The ID

Believe it or not, it’s not as simple as entering the ID you want into the Item ID field.  What you’ll find is that when you try to enter the ID you want, the Find Item popup will appear.  It’s from that popup that you have to select, “Add New”.  If you’ve never created an Item, you probably wouldn’t even notice the button!  Check out the photos below to see what the popup looks like in the desktop and Web Client versions!
