When I look in the mirror – Mom diaries

“Affffaaaan wake up”, this scream marks the start of a beautiful and pleasant day for me followed by
a series of whining and cries by my 4-year-old. I always thought life after marriage is going to be a
ball with dinner dates every other day, no tension about assignments and I can write as much as I
want.

But I seemed to have forgotten itsy bitsy detail related to motherhood. The irony of life is when I look in the Mirror I see myself as a mother who’s working hard each day to raise a gentleman. I see myself as a wife who’s not a big fan of Eggplant but still, makes Eggplant every week just because her husband loves it.

I also see a sister who’s always there for her siblings to give them advice and to suggest them the best in life. I see a daughter who realizes her parents are the best in the world but I regret not being there when my mom needs a shopping partner. Or when my dad is all tired and wishes he would retire.

Behind all these images I saw a little me hidden and scared to come out. The “me” that loves to write and would give up a night’s Sleep just to write. It sure isn’t easy when you have a 4-year-old kid who would stop doing everything and come to help you with your work. The "me" who is passionate

The “me” who is passionate about travelling wishes to travel the world from the most exotic places discovered on the land to the most mesmerizing beauty of under Water Sea. I wish to sleep all day long and trust me it seems no less than a dream when you are a mother. Waking up early in the morning has always been like a difficult also because it’s a fact that women are multi taskers and they need more sleep than men.

Waking up early in the morning has always been like a difficult also because it’s a fact that women are multi taskers and they need more sleep than men. That’s one reason I give to my husband whenever he complains about me sleeping too much. I believe there is no certain thing as sleeping too much because the person will obviously wake up when his ready to function again. If you dare to wake a person especially a woman before that you

If you dare to wake a person especially a woman before that you might end up awakening a Godzilla and that’s my story every morning. Last and most importantly I wish to freeze the clock for an hour or so to have some me time to watch TV, read a good book or just to enjoy a cup of coffee.

It’s the bitter truth that I see a distorted image of myself when I look in the mirror over powered by my relations. In the race of keeping everyone happy, I forgot to please “me” the most important of my reflection.
