Holidays Go Electric: Top 5 E-Bike Buys for This Holiday Season

The holidays always have a way of sneaking up on us. We’re just packing away our beach gear when it’s time to put up the Halloween decorations and before you know it, it’s time to start basting the turkey, and break out the Holiday decorations.

Therefore, you know as well as we do that it’s never too early to start preparing for your holiday gift giving. The one thing that will be at the top of everybody’s list—from the kids to the adults—will be Electric bicycles. They’re cool, they’re fun and, most importantly, they’re an environmentally sound way to cruise around.

Without further ado, here are the top five bikes that are sure to please the budding e-Bike aficionado in your family!

5.SwagCycle Pro Folding Electric Bike

The name says it all: this bike has some serious swagger. Whether you’re a commuting to and from the office or you’re just looking for a sweet way to cruise around your neighborhood, the SwagCycle Pro will check all the appropriate boxes.

Let’s go down the list: it’s got the torque to get you to 18 MPH, the power to get you up 12 degrees of incline and can travel as far as 15.5 miles on a single charge! It’s also got a great, intuitive app that allows you to track your trip, check your speed, GPS location and a whole host of other cool features. If you’re looking for a folding bike to stuff in a (albeit very large) stocking, look no further!

4. Juiced Bikes OceanCurrent Electric Beach Cruiser Bicycle

Juiced Bikes are one of the most well-known electric bicycle companies in America and there’s good reason for it: they craft quality bikes that are built to last. The OceanCurrent is no exception. The 500-watt motor will get you up to 26 miles per hour—making it one of the faster e-bikes on the market—and the battery range will let you travel around 30-plus miles.

A nice feature of the OceanCurrent is that it’s a pedal-assist. Meaning that you can go from full electric with no strenuous activity necessary or you can pedal a little and then let the motor do the work. If you decide to go with pedal-assist, you can travel up to 100 miles on a single charge!

But what we really like best, is that it’s sporty yet casual cool—perfect for the beach, or for the city.

3. Razor MX650 Steel Electric Dirt Rocket Motor Bike

The Razor MX650 (yes that Razor—makers of the uber-popular manual scooters) just looks awesome. It’s got all of the design flare of popular motocross bikes to satisfy the beginning riders but is affordable enough that it won’t break the bank come Christmas morning.

Is this bike practical? Is it going to be your go-to commuter bike? The answer is a resounding no. It only gets 40 minutes on a charge and probably isn’t built to be ridden by many adults. But that doesn’t matter. What it does do is provide safe (it comes with a full-face helmet) fun for kids sixteen and older. If you’ve got a teen at home hankering to start their motocross career, this is as good a place as any to begin.

2. NAKTO 350W Electric Bicycle

Simply put, we like the NAKTO 350W because it offers power and durability but won’t empty your wallet. The frame is made from 100% aluminum alloy while the front fork is high-strength carbon steel for more efficient braking and shock absorption. Two disc brakes, 6-speed transmission and true electric or pedal-assist allows you to system to ride your way and always in style.

One of our favorite features of the NAKTO 350W is the LED screen. The screen will show you your PAS level, speed in MPH and KM/H as well as distance, time and current battery power! We haven’t seen these on many electric bikes so it’s particularly exciting to see features like this finally make it to market.

1. Addmotor MOTAN Fat Tire Ebike

Two things you need to know about the Addmotor MOTAN:

  1. It’s the most expensive e-bike on our list.
  2. It’s also probably the coolest and most technologically stunning.

Let’s get the obvious out of the way: the way the bike looks. The matte black finish is tasteful and the paint job—the shark mouth logo on the frame commemorating the Flying Tigers Air Force battalion of the Second World War—is, to put it bluntly, totally bad ass.

The tech is unmatched too. The 1000W state-of-the-art geared postposition motor delivers best in class acceleration and hill climbing and the bike can be used in three different modes of movement: muscle power, throttle or pedal assist. The Addmotor MOTAN will keep you going in any terrain!

Just like that, we’ve taken all the guess work out of your Christmas list. Best of all, each of these bikes can come direct to your door fully assemble (for a small fee, of course). This year, get them what they really want—an electric bicycle.
