It was confirmed during the big Far Cry 5 reveal that the game world will be available to explore solo or entirely in two-player co-op.
The Far Cry 5 release date has been set for February 27, 2018, while Development is being led by Ubisoft Montreal, associate studios being Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Kiev, Ubisoft Shanghai and Reflections, a Ubisoft studio.
Since then, more details have been confirmed about the game’s co-op mode, which may disappoint some fans.
Polygon has now confirmed that the co-op play in Far Cry 5 will only be available online, meaning that there will no local adventures for those with two controllers.
More details have also been confirmed concerning the exclusive content coming to the PS4 version of the game. PS4 owners will get at release a free Far Cry 5 skin pack with their purchase of the game, which has been confirmed as available on Xbox One and PC too.However, Uplay Units will be needed to purchase the content on anything other than PS4.Here’s some of the story details from the recent Far Cry 5 trailer, released last week: “As the new junior deputy of fictional Hope County, Montana, players will find that their arrival accelerates a years-long silent coup by a fanatical doomsday cult, the Project at Eden's Gate, igniting a violent takeover of the county.“Caught off guard and drawn into a power struggle, players must disrupt the carefully laid plans of the Project at Eden’s Gate, and fan the fires of resistance to help liberate the Hope County community and themselves.“Under siege and cut off from the rest of the world, players will join forces with residents of Hope County and form the Resistance.
