HOW TO MAKE MONEY IMPORTING USED CLOTHES (OKREKA)

Importation business is fast on the rise in Nigeria today all thanks to technological advancement that enable business sit at the comfort of their couch and import their goods from all over the world.
I know you must have heard of folks who commonly engage in the importation of electronics and most especially mobile phones and accessories, but today I am going to teach the business of “USED CLOTHES” importation commonly called ‘okreka’.

Before you forget, always entrepreneurship is now the way to go in a country like Nigeria where after graduation securing a job is very difficult.

This business I am about to introduce you into is a very profitable one because the demand is steady. Do you know most Nigerians prefer to buy foreign used clothes and shoes instead of buying the fake china made ones? Yes, you heard me!
Would you not prefer to buy a used GUCCI that you are sure is original instead of buying a fake Aba made Louis vuitton?

I know the government has been pushing for made in Nigerian products but fact remains most Nigerians prefer to buy the fairly used quality and designer shoes and clothes instead of buying the chinko ones we find at Onitsha market.

Importation of used clothes has been an age long practice and I don’t see it coming to an end in the near future. These used clothes in the Unites states of America sometimes cost $0.40 per one in a 25kg bale. Take for instance there is about 500 pieces in the bale, that will be $0.40*500= $200 which is about N70,000 in Nigeria. This same goods will be sold for over N120,00 and you can make a profit of clothes to N50,000.

HOW TO START OKREKA BUSINESS
1. Ensure you have gotten a shop or medium size warehouse where you can store and exhibit your goods for sale when your products arrive Nigeria.

2. Go to alibaba.com or ebay.com with your computer or browsing phone and source for good and reliable suppliers.

3. In a matter of weeks or even days your products will arrive after you have paid for the goods you have purchased and paid all necessary courier charges.
Believe me, when you display these goods the number of people that will come and bend down and select will surprise you.
