StormAudio has chosen to integrate Dirac Live room correction software on its high-end immersive home theatre products, following an agreement between the two companies.

The Dirac Live room correction solution will be incorporated into StormAudio’s StormOptimiser suite, with integrators gaining tools to correct the acoustic behaviours of the room and speakers as a complete system.

The Dirac Live room correction solution, integrated into StormAudio’s product line, will be demonstrated at the High End Show, May 18-21 in Munich and available shortly thereafter.

Dirac Live is a patented room correction technology that not only corrects the frequency response, but also the impulse response of the loudspeakers in a room. It is unique in that it provides true impulse response correction over a large listening area, improving the depth, the positioning and distinction of individual voices and instruments. Using multiple measurement and mixed phase correction, Dirac Live helps audio systems to create a natural, realistic and transparent sound with tighter bass and reduced room modes, in a way previously not possible.

Dirac Live will be a standard feature for all newly purchased StormAudio processors and made available as a free DSP runtime firmware upgrade to the products already installed.

In addition to StormAudio, Dirac’s audio optimisation solutions are currently utilised by other high-end home cinema audio manufacturers – in addition to blue chip technology companies in the automobile and mobile markets such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Volvo, BMW, Huawei, Xiaomi and OPPO.

The StormAudio hardware line consists of four preamp/processors (from 16- to 32-channels), three power amplifiers (8- to 16-channels) and a 16-channel Integrated Immersive Sound AV Processor (combination amp/processor). All the processors have built-in compatibility with Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
