  3. Then, tap on Backup Files and wait for the backup process to be completed
  4. If you want to backup your messages to a Google account. Tap on Back up to Google Drive and set up the backup frequency to your liking.
  5. You will be prompted to select a Google account that you will back up your chat history to. Click on this link to create a google account if you don’t have one.
  6. Tap on Back up over to choose the network you wish to use for backup. Please note that backing up over cellular may result in additional data charges. That’s All!

How To Restore WhatsApp Messages

When you delete WhatsApp and want to install it back, you will be prompted to backup your messages. Simply Tap Restore and your chat history should load.

If you need to transfer your chats from one phone to another, simply transfer your SD card to your new phone before installing WhatsApp on it. If you do not have an SD card, you will need to copy the entire ‘wa’ folder from your old phone into your new phone’s memory.
