Did Cadbury blatantly rip off this Twitter user’s oreo creme egg idea?

Millionaire ideas everywhere, floating on the web: the next story is about not overestimating your treasured ideas. Even though your concept related to literally anything may seem zany, you should think twice before sharing it on your social media where you could possibly give away a whirlwind of money you do not even own Yet!

When speaking about food, there are two kinds of palates: the traditional, and the risky, hazardous ones. The second type is my favorite because they never stop experimenting, with the hopes of ‘one up’ing’ delicious sensations to your taste buds.

A chat between their brains and their hearts centered in food combinations that look so disgusting that surely taste delicious: fries with ice cream, peanut butter plus bacon, and the list goes on and on. And then, the patented ones we are a fan as well, like Cadbury Eggs whisked in Oreos

Legend has It…

So the problem is not the creativity you put on your cooking or tasty snacks, but what if you share it on Twitter where it goes viral and then patented by someone else where you are left without a free sample, a hug or thanks? Not to mention, the cash you deserve!

The legend states that it was the real life nightmareNick Allam had to go through when a few years ago he tweeted his brilliant, tasteful idea of mixing Oreos into a Cadbury Creme Egg.

He wanted to enjoy two of his favorite snacks when the the fusion got real – the company stole the idea, and he obtained no reward nor recognition.

Whether or not you have tried Cadbury Eggs, how would you react if you realize that your yummy idea was actually worth selling? Lesson learned I hope.

So, now that we know that Cadbury UK are very open-minded to their customer’s suggestions, so why not start thinking of the next Cadbury Creme Egg strange millionaire combination to offer? Just remember to keep your granny recipe secret until the right moment.

Cadbury eggs aside –  Let’s capture the spirit of Twitter

Each social network has its own character, even beyond how each officially defines itself.

Simplifying it a lot, it could be said that LinkedIn has a very professional focus, oriented to networking and distills kindness at the same time as seriousness, or that Facebook focuses a lot on leisure and topics to hang out; whereasTwitter, is an intensive real-time information channel and conversation where it is of particular importance to connect with the community.

What are you doing? Watch your 140 characters micro-blogging limit and use your worldwide window correctly:

  • Avoid sending lots of tweets in a row.
  • Keep it simple, not too much #hashtags and @mentions.
  • Watch your spelling.
  • Do retweet: breed some sympathy and curiosity.
  • Find the best schedule, so you can repeat your message in different timings if it’s necessary to pass on everyone.
  • Include links and media; they generate more clicks, views and RT’s.
