Tags: camera iphone

Take a glance at your Iphone 7 and you’ll realize the Camera is one of the most prominent features, which is known to contribute to the $7.8 billion profit in Q3 2016, earned by Apple. So, what’s the big deal about the evolution of camera technology that it has completely engraved its prominence into the tech-world?

It was in 1927 that it first happened; the first photo from a camera was taken when a piece of paper was coated with silver chloride and it would darken when introduced to light. Since then, the camera has really evolved, from the camera obscura to photographic technology that comprise of calotypes, daguerreotypes, dry plates, films and to the current digitalized gizmos- the super digital cameras.

Currently the mobile photography has taken the industry by storm, let’s compare the iPhone 7 with some of the cameras in the market ranging from $300-400.

The story behind iPhone 7 camera

The 4 megapixel cameras were highly marketable back in the days but fast forward today, there exist up to 80 megapixels camera in the market. Due to the advancements of mobile photography, Apple Company had an urgent need to manufacture a phone with better camera properties.

The desire led to manufacture an iPhone 7 that has more advanced camera features as compared to previous series.

The camera specs of iPhone 7

The back camera is 12 megapixels coupled with 7 megapixels front camera. The phone has a dual lens that makes the picture clearer. It has a larger sensor and immense pixel depth that boosts the quality of images taken in dark areas.

The shots of images are more stable and are not distracted by any form of motion due to the availability of the optical image stabilization.

Cameras in the range of $300-400

The Kodak Company rolled forth its first digital camera in 1970. Over the time, several advancements have been made to the camera and with $350, you can acquire the Canon powershot SX50HS.

The camera is composed of 12.1 megapixels sensors and it has interchangeable lenses. It is so bulky and very huge, hence limiting its portability, however it is compensated with a zooming range of 50X with a distance of 24mm to 1200mm.

Another camera in that bracket is Samsung galaxy costing $359. The digital camera is sleek as it is common with Samsung gadgets.  The sensors have 16.3 megapixels and a zooming range of 21X. Camera has a screen display of 4.8 inches and operates on android software.

The Fujifilm S200EXR is also priced at$354. The camera has a resolution of 12 megapixels and a zoom range of14.3X. It is relatively smaller as compared to other series and it has a viewfinder.

Comparison between $300-400 cameras and iPhone 7

From the above, most of the cameras ranging averagely at $350 have specifications similar to the iPhone 7 camera. The only notable difference is that the phone has a zoom range of 2X as compared to the cameras that can have a zooming range of up to 50X. It’s therefore comfortable to conclude that the camera price of an iPhone 7 is placed at $350.

Conclusion

The least price of the iPhone 7 camera is currently $649 in the market. With its several benefits such as portability and the front shooter camera for selfies, I would prefer to have the iPhone 7 against the conventional camera.
