Honestly expected Hurley out would cost me this final with Tomlinson as the key defender to replace him not with anything close to same scoring ability.
As it turns out the opposition key defender Tom McDonald put in a shocker which assisted my team still being in it and then Tom Mitchell and Dayne Beams midfield powered us on into the grand final with just enough edge.
This means SKFC as minor premiers go out in straight sets in finals which is always hard to take but tends to happen once in a while where and wonderful home and away season is not replicated at finals time when it counts.
Next weeks grand final will be between Port Douglas Pilgrims coached by MovingUpward and my Port Phillip Bay Pirates.
Interestingly my Pirates have gone premiers, wooden spoon and premiers the last 3 seasons and with Pilgrims wooden spooners last year it means if they win next week the last two premiers have gone from wooden spoon to flag the following year.
I will be hoping not to let that strange situation unfold and will be aiming to try to take out back to back flags and our 3rd FDL flag in total.
