The final home series of the season kicked off with a bang as the Dodgers welcomed the newest addition to their "Ring of Honor" on Friday. As you can see, broadcasting legend Jaime Jarrin will now be honored for all of posterity. Watch the pregame video montage the Dodgers put together for him here. They then welcome Billie Jean King and Illana Kloss into the Dodger family.

The next day Chase Utley was named the recipient of the 2018 Roy Campanella Award, and would then get a hearty ovation from fans the following day when it is announced that Sunday would be his last day on the field as a Dodger during the regular season. You can watch the ovation here.

Lastly, the inaugural class of the upcoming "Legends of Dodger Baseball" were presented to the fans on Fan Appreciation Day -- Fernando Valenzuela, Steve Garvey and Don Newcombe.

  • This Day in Dodgers HistoryIn 1957 the last Major League game is played at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn. Pirates first baseman Dee Fondy makes the last out when he grounds to Dodger shortstop Don Zimmer with starting pitcher Danny McDevitt on the mound. The Dodger win, 2-0. In 1971 Dodger lefty Al Downing wins his 20th game of the season against the Atlanta Braves, 2-0. He would finish third in Cy Young voting this season. In 2003 Eric Gagne ties the NL record for saves when he records his 55th save of the season against the Padres in extra innings, 5-3.
  • Happy Birthday, Tom Seats, Dixie Walker, Otis Davis, Dick Nen, Hubie Brooks, Larry White & Jim Neidlinger!
  • Julio Urias was fantastic in his short two-inning stint last night. At one point he hit 97-mph on the radar gun. Per Ron Cervenka at Think Blue LA; "Julio Urías – As advertised."
“We’ve been trying to figure out a spot to place him and today he threw the ball really well,” Roberts said. “And even in St. Louis, I thought the inning the ball came out well. So, to get him up and down two innings, I thought that was good for him. He’ll get a couple days off here and we’ll see where we’re at after that.”
  • Via Ken Gurnick at MLB.com; "Addition of King, Kloss sends 'strong message': Dodgers welcome tennis great, partner to ownership group."
"As a woman, there aren't many women in C-Suites, but 95 percent of women in C Suites identify with being an athlete," King said. "They've proven through data that if you have inclusion in your company, it actually goes to the bottom line. You make more money.
"I also think it sounds a very strong message. You always want to be hospitable in your relationships with other people. The Dodgers stand for something bigger than themselves."
  • ICYMI: The Arizona Diamondbacks have been eliminated from the playoffs!
  • Per Ryan Walton at True Blue LA; "Dodgers set franchise record for home runs in a season for second consecutive year."
  • WTF! Per Devin Ch at Hot New Hip Hop; "Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig’s Home Targeted By Robber For Second Time In Two Days."
The bungled break-in went down on Thursday evening at around 10:45 PM. An intruder had the audacity to jump the front gate then ring the doorbell without first gaining access via the security intercom. The intruder used another intercom linked to the security system via the front door to ask if "unidentified person" was able to come downstairs and open the padlock.
  • Hilarious! Via a tweet from Joe Davis:

  • I don't know much about his politics, but I do know I love his fandom. Per former elegate to the US House from Guam Robert Underwood at Pacific Daily News; "Being a loyal Dodgers fan, Democrat."
As I welcome people into my family network, I jokingly tell them that there are only two things that are required. You must be a Dodger fan and a loyal Democrat.
One of these is actually true. My loyalty to the Dodgers is absolute and long-suffering. I have probably spent more money attending Dodger games than donating to the Democratic Party.

I watched my first Major League league game at this stadium 32 years ago. Today will be the last time I get to play here during the regular season. #bittersweet #dodgers
