2017 NatWest T20 Blast: What is Happening?

A lot is happening in the 2017 Natwest T20 Blast. Whether it’s the teams of the North Division or the South Division, each and every team is struggling hard to make it through to the quarterfinals. The 2017 NatWest T20 Blast Cricket League started on the 7th of July and will be played till the 2nd of September. The group matches will be played till the 18th of August and the top 4 teams in both the divisions will be sent to the quarterfinals. As of now, it is difficult to state whether which teams will be making it to the quarterfinals but few teams seem to be dominating from the very beginning of the tourney. 2017 NatWest T20 Blast: The Major Happenings

North Division

The very first match of the North Division was played between Warwickshire and Worcestershire on the 7th of July. Warwickshire won by 8 wickets in the match. Since then, the picture of the points table has changed a lot. Currently, the defending champion Northamptonshire is placed atop the points table with 5 points and a net run-rate of +0.044. The team won its last match against Warwickshire by 5 wickets on the 14th of July. On the second spot lie Leicestershire with 4 points and a net run-rate of +0.469. On the third spot is Derbyshire with a net run-rate of +0.284 and a total of 4 points. With 4 points and a net run-rate of +0.099 Warwickshire is placed in the 4th position.

South Division

The first match in the South Division was played between Middlesex and Gloucestershire on the 7th of July. The match ended up in a tie giving both the team 1 point each. As of now, Hampshire is placed on the 1st spot with 6 points and a net run-rate of +1.167. On the second spot is Kent with a net run-rate of +0.196 and a total of 4 points. The third spot is taken by Surrey with 4 points and a net run-rate of -0.202.  Whereas, in the 4th spot is team Gloucestershire with 3 points and a net run-rate of +0.280.
