The first leg of UEFA Champions League continue on Wednesday and it was a much tighter result compared to Juventus’ thumping of Barcelona last Tuesday.

At Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich face a tough situation as they were beaten 2-1 by Real Madrid in an exciting game of two half.

Los Blancos didn’t start off in commanding fashion as it was Bayern that got themselves ahead through Arturo Vidal’s header on 25 minutes.

The Spanish giant were forced to play more on the counter as they struggle to take control of the midfield, giving Carlo Ancelotti’s men plenty of possession.

Madrid got slightly lucky near the end as their opponent could’ve gone 2-0 up, but Vidal failed to convert the spot kick.

Zinedine Zidane’s men bounced back after the break as a poor defending from Bayern allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to make it 1-1 soon after the re-start.

Things suddenly turn into Madrid’s favor when the host found themselves playing with 10 men following Javier Martinez’s sending off.

Los Blancos took control of that situation as they netted their second on 77 minutes, once again from Ronaldo’s effort, who also marked his 100th goals in European competition.

Meanwhile, another Spanish side, Atletico Madrid picked up a 1-0 win over English side, Leicester City thanks to Antoine Griezmann’s spot kick.

As in Germany, traumatic Borussia Dortmund got their Champions League hope in the brink of exit after suffering a 3-2 home defeat against Monaco.

Two goals from young striker, Kylian Mbappe along with Sven Bender’s own goal were too much for the host which only able to pull two goals back through Ousmane Dembele and Shinji Kagawa.
