Pro Big Red: Huskers in the NFL Weeks 5 & 6

It’s been slow for former Huskers in the NFL

Even though it’s been incredibly slow for former Huskers in the NFL the reason I didn’t get an article out last week was because of midterms. I didn’t have enough time to get one out, and nobody else could get the article done. So we’re going to combine the last two weeks in this article going into week 7 of the NFL season.

Offense

Quincy Enunwa WR - New York Jets: Enunwa was quiet two Weeks Ago when the Jets played the Broncos and was held without a reception. A week later, Enunwa had another quiet day against the Colts. He had one reception for 9 yards, but was sidelined with an ankle injury. It turns out that ankle injury is a high ankle sprain which will keep him off the field for 3 to 4 weeks.

Niles Paul TE - Jacksonville Jaguars: Paul had a nice game two weeks ago against the Kansas City Chiefs. He had seven receptions for 65 yards, but most of those happened in the second half in garbage time once the game was already out of reach. This past week he didn't have any receptions or targets against Cowboys, but that may because he got injured. I’m not sure when he got injured, but he suffered an MCL sprain and was put on IR.

Defense

Prince Amukamara CB - Chicago Bears: Two weeks ago he was out with a hamstring injury, but was able to return for the Bears’ game against the Dolphins this past week. He played a little in that game and had two tackles, but aggravated his hamstring and was sidelined for the rest of the game. I’m not sure if he’ll play this weekend when the Bears take on the Patriots on Sunday at noon.

Will Compton LB - Tennessee Titans: The Titans played the Bills two weeks ago and Compton had two tackles. This past week he didn’t play and he is listed as questionable for this weeks matchup against the Chargers on Sunday at 8:30 a.m.. Yes, that’s the correct time. The Chargers and Titans are playing in London this weekend.

Lavonte David LB - Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Bucs had an early season bye week two weeks ago. This past weekend the Bucs played the Falcons. David continued to assert his presence on their defense with 6 tackles. The Buccaneers play the Browns on Sunday at noon.

Randy Gregory DE - Dallas Cowboys: With as many problems as Gregory has had in his NFL career, it finally seems like he’s beginning to get on the right track. Two weeks ago he tallied five tackles against the Texans. This past week against the Jags he recorded another three tackles. The Cowboys take on the Redskins on Sunday at 3:25.

Ndamukong Suh DT - Los Angeles Rams: Suh and company continued their dominant defensive performance over the past two weeks to help the Rams improve to 6-0. Two weeks ago he had six tackles and one sack against the Seahawks. This past week when the Rams played the Broncos, Suh had two tackles. The Rams look to continue their season undefeated against the 49ers on Sunday at 3:25.

Special Teams

Sam Koch P - Baltimore Ravens: Two weeks ago Koch had eight punts against the Browns and this past week he had four punts against the Titans. This week the Ravens play the Saints on Sunday at 3:05.

Brett Maher K - Dallas Cowboys: Maher has continued his hot streak since week two hitting 3/3 field goals two weeks ago against the Texans and 4/4 this past week against the Jags. The Cowboys play the Redskins on Sunday at 3:25.
