There has simply been no satisfactory movements for Barcelona regarding either players coming to or leaving Barcelona.

The team needs reinforcement but there’s also the need for a summer clear out of all unwanted players in the team.

A number of players have been seen as surplus to requirements by Ernesto Valverde and Sergi Samper’s name has found its way into a list of players that could leave Barcelona this summer.

The midfielder came up through Barcelona’s youth system and was promoted to the first team last year.

But a Loan move quickly followed and he joined Granada for the entire 2016/17 season. However, Barcelona are disappointed with the progress he made during his loan spell and feels he didn’t pick the right sporting project.

Valverde has told the player he can leave again for another loan spell to another club.

But Samper is seeking a permanent move away and would rather cancel his contract with Barcelona amicably.

He had hoped to leave for free, but that is highly unlikely and a loan move is more favourable to Barcelona.

So far, teams like Girona, Las Palmas and Alaves are willing to take him for the rest of the new season.
