Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez appeared alongside Ernesto Valverde in a press conference on Monday.
And one of the topics he touched on was the remaining signings Barcelona is yet to make. He began by saying: “ (Barcelona) has no intention of losing players so we can get others.” which contradicts what club president, Josep Bartomeu, had earlier said. (Read here)
Going further, he explained: “It is Barça’s obligation to keep track of the market and the best players, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We have a great team and it is very hard to improve it.”
And when asked about Marco Verratti, he explains the difficulty with the new deal he signed.
“The players who have contracts are complicated and difficult situations.” the Barcelona director added.
“Logically if they are good players, Barcelona should be looking out for them but there’s a lot of time to go.”
