Manchester City close to buying La Liga club

Manchester City have moved beyond just buying the best talents but are now buying teams in one of Europe’s biggest leagues.

According to a detailed report via Sport, Manchester City are going to complete the deal to buy Girona in the next few days.

Girona were among the clubs newly promoted to the La Liga. And the deal was struck in partnership with Pep Guariodla’s brother, Pere Guardiola.

Pere Guardiola’s company Media base and City would own almost 50% each of the Catalan-based team. The remaining percentage of the club would be owned by the supporters who are already shareholders.

Ties between both clubs would significantly strengthen once final details are sorted out in the next 15 days. And the deal would also see a big bump in Girona’s transfer budget.

In addition, players would more easily move from Girona to the Etihad and vice versa. Both teams have worked together in recent seasons, as seven of City’s players have moved to Girona.

More players are expected to move this summer and Girona would also be training at the City Football Academy this summer.
